FAQs

What is hypnosis?

It’s a natural state of human consciousness that involves focused attention. You may be surprised to learn that we often go into mild hypnotic states in our everyday lives, when listening intently to music or engrossed in a book, for example. The hypnotism I practice just puts this natural state onto a more intense and beneficial setting.

What does it feel like?

Being in a state of hypnosis doesn’t feel that different to when you’re feeling totally relaxed. Time passes but you’re totally focused on the present. It’s a pleasant experience and nothing at all to worry about.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes, totally. That’s why it’s been accepted and approved by the British Medical Council since 1955. Hypnosis is merely tapping into your natural state of mind. You’re not divorced from reality – you can rouse yourself from a hypnotic state whenever you want to.

Will I lose control in some way?

No, you remain in complete control at all times. The whole thing is voluntary, meaning you have the ability to say and do whatever you like, and not say or do anything that goes against your better judgment.

What if I’m not easily suggestible?

It shouldn’t make a difference. Virtually anyone can be hypnotised, provided they are willing participants. It’s just not possible to hypnotise someone against their wishes.

It is a relaxing process that generally produces extremely beneficial results. Provided you’re not expecting a quick ‘fix’ in a matter of minutes, there are no disadvantages.
