We approach fear of flying much like any other phobia. People perceive flying to be inherently dangerous, an unnatural phenomenon that is full of risk, which causes our sub-conscious to run through all the worst-case scenarios, often manifesting as panic attacks or anxiety during a flight. The truth is, flying is statistically one of the safest means of travel in the world.

While statistics do not help treat our fears, realising that this is actually an irrational fear to have is the first step towards treatment.

As we delve into the hypnotic techniques, we can work within your subconscious to remove the implicit fear we associate with flying and impart a renewed sense of confidence when we travel.

Overcoming fears through advanced hypnosis

The ultimate goal of our hypnotherapy sessions is to remove any state of anxiety from flying, from when you book your ticket to when you unbuckle your seatbelt at the end of a long-haul flight. Achieving this goal is less complex that it sounds and is rooted in understanding the subconscious process that leads us to build up a state of anxiety.

Hypnotherapy allows us to dig deep into your mind and understand the reasons behind your fears. Once we have established the thought processes that occur when you board a plane, we can employ Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques to assist you in mastering your emotions and replace you habitual, fearful thought patterns with a more balanced and relaxed state.

In revisiting past flying experiences, we are able to review the triggers of your anxieties – whether particular sensations, noises or sights – and understand why these lead to a state of unease. We will then work through visualisation techniques to walk you through the flight process, gradually reducing the stress responses associated with each of these triggers until you no longer experience an anxious state.
